KATHMANDU: Several inmates have escaped from Jhumka Prison in Sunsari after a group, reportedly linked to Gen-Z protesters, attacked the facility on Tuesday night.

According to jailer Subash Lamichhane, prisoners identified as “A” and “B” managed to flee as the group used force to facilitate their escape.

While most of the inmates initially got away, a team from the Nepali Army arrived on the scene and was able to regain control over some, returning them to the prison.
