PM: Rabi Lamichhane not implicated in cooperative case, action to be taken if found guilty
Answering today's Parliament meeting, he said that if found guilty, action will be taken.
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stated that both Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane would face action if found guilty in the cooperative case.
During today’s parliamentary meeting, it was disclosed that action would be taken against those found guilty.
“The ongoing investigation has not found any evidence linking him [Rabi Lamichhane] to the management committee, audit committee, loan committee, or any responsibility or role in court cases,” he stated.
Prachanda informed the House that investigations had revealed no association of Rabi Lamichhane with irregularities or withdrawal of funds from the Surya Darshan Saving and Credit Cooperative. “Six months after the initial dues, a public notice was issued on Magh 16, where he was also named among 18 individuals and companies involved in the irregularities,” Prachanda added. “Further evidence will be sought after additional evidence is collected post the initial dues. However, no evidence has been presented linking him to the cooperative in the notice.”
Additionally, Prachanda questioned whether anyone needs to declare bankruptcy before becoming a member of parliament.
