KATHMANDU: Aston Villa claimed a dramatic 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Ollie Watkins scoring twice to secure the win.
Villa’s triumph marks their 11th win across all competitions, equalling their club record.
Chelsea dominated the first half, taking the lead in the 38th minute when João Pedro netted from a Reece James corner.

However, Villa’s fortunes changed after United Watkins entered the field in the 58th minute. Just five minutes later, Watkins scored the equalizer, before heading in the winner in the 84th minute.
The victory sees third-placed Villa just three points behind league leaders Arsenal, setting up a crucial clash at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday. Chelsea, meanwhile, remain three points off the top four.
Arsenal 2–1 Brighton & Hove Albion
Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League by defeating Brighton 2-1. Martin Ødegaard gave Arsenal an early 14th-minute lead, and they doubled it in the 52nd minute through an own goal by Jorginho Rutter off Declan Rice’s corner.
Brighton pulled one back in the 64th minute when Diego Gomez converted a rebound after Yassine Ayari’s shot struck the post.
Despite Brighton’s late pressure, Arsenal held on, restoring a two-point gap over Manchester City. Brighton fell to 12th, extending their winless run to five games.

Wolves fought back in the second half with Santiago Bueno scoring from a corner in the 51st minute, but Liverpool held on. Both sets of fans paid tribute to former player Diego Jota, who passed away in July. The win moves Liverpool to fourth in the league, while Wolves remain at the bottom.
Manchester City 2–1 Nottingham Forest
Manchester City edged past Nottingham Forest 2-1 at the City Ground thanks to a late Ryan Cherki strike. Cherki assisted by Tijjani Reijnders’ opener for City in the 48th minute.
