KATHMANDU: Police in Parsa have completed their investigation against medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai and submitted the report to the District Government Attorney’s Office on Monday.

According to DSP Hari Basnet of the District Police Office, Parsa, the investigation report was formally handed over for further legal proceedings.

Police had arrested Prasai on Jestha 4 from Diyalo Hotel in Birgunj. Authorities have recommended filing charges against him under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063, as well as on charges related to offenses against the state.

Investigators said the case was built primarily on Prasai’s YouTube interviews and public statements.

Police claim that during several public appearances, he used abusive language against women, made controversial remarks about state institutions including the Nepal Army and Nepal Police, and made various allegations involving Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Rabi Lamichhane, Kulman Ghising, and Harka Sampang.

Prasai had traveled to Parsa to visit the Gahawa Mai Temple in Birgunj and to address locals protesting the demolition of structures in the area.
