Pokhara Municipality initiates ‘I Cut My Tree’ campaign to tackle monkey menace

“Ward Chair Pandey, in the issued notice, states, ‘Given the severe impact of monkeys in the former Lamachaur Purunchaur area of the former Pokhara Metropolitan and the recent policy by the provincial government on monkey control, I urge all residents to participate in the ‘I Cut My Tree’ campaign within the next 10 days. Kindly cooperate in cutting down all the trees around your homes to contribute to the Monkey Control Campaign.'”
The notice issued by the ward on Monday has been going viral on social media since Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
Social media users have criticized the decision of the ward chair.
