PM’s announcement to recall non-working ambassadors

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that the government is preparing to recall the ambassadors and heads of delegations whose performance is weak.
Addressing the nation in the context of the completion of one year of government formation, he said that economic and diplomatic missions have been given attention for effective mobilization in investment and tourism.
Remittance inflows have increased by 26 percent. “Now, our focus will be on increasing production and employment in the country through the use of skills, efficiency, and remittances,” he said during his speech on Tuesday, adding, “I call on all economic and diplomatic missions for effective deployment in investment and tourism.” Underperforming ambassadors and mission chiefs should be returned. The Prime Minister stated that the economy will be dynamic not just because of government policies, but also because of government spending. He stated that the administration is looking into increasing capital spending for that purpose.
