KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to visit Madhesh Province today, attending multiple programs in Dhanusha and Mahottari districts.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to depart for Dhanusha at 11 a.m. via a helicopter from the Nepali Army.

In Dhanusha, he will inaugurate the Madhesh Province Police Office and lay the foundation for a road construction project in Hanspur.

Following the Dhanusha programs, PM Oli will proceed to Mahottari, where he will lay the foundation for a paved road at Sonma.

This road is being constructed under the Provincial and Local Road Improvement Program, supported by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, Madhesh Province, and a World Bank loan.

The project will pave an 8.384 km stretch connecting Raghunathpur Bazar, Sonma, Tarhari, and Sundarpur, at a total cost of Rs 1.9708 billion, including VAT.

Dhukuchhu Construction Company Pvt. Ltd. has been awarded the contract, with completion targeted by Chaitra 11, 2083 BS.

After participating in programs in Dhanusha and Mahottari, the Prime Minister is expected to return to Kathmandu today.

Security arrangements have been tightened across Madhesh Province in preparation for his visit.
