KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the newly constructed administrative building of the Madhesh Province Police in Janakpur today.

The facility, built at a cost of approximately Rs 23.10 crore, houses 68 rooms and is equipped with modern amenities, according to the Madhesh Province Police Office.

The building was constructed under a multi-year plan by the Ministry of Home, Communication, and Law of the Madhesh Province Government.

Previously, the police office operated from a rented building due to the absence of its own facility.

With the new building located in Ward No. 4, Janakpurdham, the provincial government expects an improvement in the operational efficiency of the Madhesh Province Police.

The foundation stone for the building had been laid by then-Chief Minister Saroj Kumar Yadav, and the construction, carried out by Shivalaya Subedi JV, was completed within the designated timeframe.
