KATHMANDU: The meeting of House of Representatives has been postponed after the ongoing first general convention of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) disrupted parliamentary proceedings.

The session scheduled for 1 PM today has been deferred until 11 AM on Saturday, as key ministers and RSP lawmakers remain engaged in the party’s convention in Chitwan. This marks the third rescheduling of the parliamentary meeting.

According to Federal Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, the postponement was necessary because both ministers and RSP lawmakers are currently in Bharatpur, Chitwan, where the party convention is taking place.

“Ministers and lawmakers are in Chitwan, so the meeting has been postponed until tomorrow morning,” Giri said.

The RSP’s first general convention, which began on June 21 in Bharatpur, Chitwan, has already elected a 99-member central committee. However, the selection of office bearers is still underway.
