KATHMANDU: Paris Saint-Germain ended their Ligue 1 campaign with a surprise 2-1 defeat to city rivals Paris FC on Sunday.
Bradley Barcola handed PSG the lead five minutes into the second half, but substitute Alimami Gory produced a dramatic turnaround with two late goals to secure victory for Paris FC.
Gory netted the winner in the fourth minute of injury time after connecting with a pass from Luca Koleosho.
PSG had created several chances earlier in the match, with Barcola denied by goalkeeper Kevin Trapp before Matvey Safonov also made an impressive save at the other end.
The French champions suffered another setback in the 27th minute when Ousmane Dembele was forced off injured, raising concerns ahead of their upcoming European final.
Gory made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, scoring the equaliser in the 76th minute just nine minutes after entering the field. He later struck again in stoppage time to complete a memorable comeback for Paris FC.
The victory saw Paris FC finish the season in 11th place — the club’s best-ever Ligue 1 finish. PSG, meanwhile, will now shift their full focus to the UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal F.C.
