‘Paran’ wins hearts; gets support from Arghakhanchi Cement

KATHMANDU: The movie Paran has been receiving widespread acclaim, attracting full houses and trending across social media platforms.

The movie’s touching storyline has inspired Arghakhanchi Cement Limited to organize a special corporate screening for its employees and business partners.

On Saturday, the company hosted the screening at Civil Mall, Sundhara, at 2:45 PM for its dealers.

After watching the film, attendees were visibly moved. Ramesh Thapa, General Manager of Arghakhanchi Cement Limited, said, “Paran portrays the story of our own homes—children leaving for abroad, parents left alone, villages slowly emptying. This film captures such realities and sends a strong social message. Stories like these are essential for Nepali cinema.”

Paran explores the universal theme of familial bonds, focusing on a father seeking love and closeness from his children in the twilight of his life. The film realistically depicts the emotional distance that arises when children prioritize their aspirations over parental companionship.

Veteran actor Nir Shah plays the lead role, marking his return to a top role after many years, drawing special attention from the Nepali audience.

The movie, directed by debutant Deepak Prasad Acharya (Kaku), is written by Acharya, with the screenplay and dialogues by Yam Thapa. It is produced by Bioscope Cinema Pvt. Ltd.

The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Neer Shah, Mahesh Shah, Anjana Barail, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Puja Chand, Keki Adhikari, Praveen Khatiwada, Buddhi Tamang, Yaseli Yonghang, Babin Rai, Pushparaj Ojha, Seema Kafle, Daman Rupakheti, Yaman Shrestha, Subrata Raj Acharya, Suresh Thapa, Binod Rai, and child artist Aryadeep Acharya.
