KATHMANDU: In the 11th National Convention of the CPN-UML, former vice-chair and candidate for general secretary, Surendra Prasad Pandey, was defeated and also failed to secure a central member seat.
Pandey lost the general secretary race to Shankar Pokhrel, who received 1,228 votes against Pandey’s 999.
His performance in the central member election was similarly weak, garnering only 961 votes.
