Pakistan strikes Taliban hideouts in Afghanistan, says operations to continue
Officials added that the military campaign will continue until its objectives are fully achieved.
KATHMANDU: Pakistan has carried out airstrikes on Taliban hideouts and militant camps in Afghanistan as part of its ongoing counterterrorism campaign, according to sources.
The strikes reportedly targeted four terrorist safe havens and related facilities in Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia. Sources said the operation is aimed at dismantling militant networks operating from Afghan territory.
Officials added that the military campaign will continue until its objectives are fully achieved.
The development comes as Pakistan presses ahead with its operation named “Operation Ghazab-e-Lail-ul-Haq” (Wrath of Justice), which was launched in late February to eliminate militant threats.
Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ataullah Tarar, said that the ongoing operations have so far killed 641 militants and injured more than 855 others.
