Pakistan crush Namibia to enter T20 World Cup Super 8s

KATHMANDU: Pakistan cruised to a commanding 102-run victory over Namibia to secure the final spot in the Super 8s of the T20 World Cup on Wednesday.

Sahibzada Farhan stole the show with a brilliant century, propelling Pakistan to 199-3 at the SSC Cricket Ground in Colombo. In response, Namibia struggled against a disciplined Pakistani attack and were bowled out for just 97 in 17.3 overs.

Usman Tariq, who has been in the spotlight for his unique bowling action, took four wickets, while Shadab Khan added three more. Only Louren Steenkamp (23) and Alexander Busing-Volschenk (20) managed to reach double figures for Namibia.

Earlier, Pakistan posted a strong total after Farhan’s explosive innings. Openers Saim Ayub (14) and Farhan shared a 40-run partnership, followed by captain Salman Ali Agha’s quick 38 off 23 balls and Shadab Khan’s 36 off 22 balls, narrowly missing out on a 200-run landmark. Farhan’s century featured 11 boundaries and four sixes, anchoring Pakistan’s dominant performance.
