KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives was briefly disrupted on Wednesday after lawmakers from the Shram Sanskriti Party staged a protest inside the chamber, forcing a 15-minute adjournment.

During the ongoing session on the Appropriation Bill, ministers were responding to questions on various ministry budget headings when MPs from the party, led by Harkaraj Rai, stood up and began a protest, obstructing proceedings.

Despite repeated requests from Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal to take their seats, the protesting lawmakers continued their demonstration, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the meeting for 15 minutes to restore order.

Opposition parties have been continuously voicing protest in Parliament, objecting to recent remarks attributed to Prime Minister Balen Shah, which they say were inappropriate and politically sensitive.
