PM Dahal vows to end political appointments in universities

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that there will be no political participation in universities.

Addressing the nation on the occasion of the first year completition of the government on Tuesday, Prime Minister Dahal said that now there will be no political participation in the universities.

He stated that qualified Nepalis from any part of the world may run for Vice-Chancellor if they have a clear and honest plan for university reform.

He stated that meritocracy will now begin, using Tribhuvan University as the beginning point.

Prime Minister Dahal stated that the administration will take a variety of efforts to generate high-quality, competitive labor within the country.

He stated that the school should not be turned into a political playground and requested the cooperation of all parties involved. He also stated that the teacher-student ratio will be improved beginning this year.
