Nitu Paudel case: Singer Giri released on bail

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release of singer and musician Babul Giri on a Rs 300,000 bail in connection with the alleged abetment of suicide of singer Nitu Paudel.

Following the court’s order, Giri paid the bail and was released, according to police.

Nitu Paudel’s family had filed a complaint against Giri, holding him responsible for her death.

Nitu had attempted self-immolation at a studio in Anamnagar and was taken to Burn Hospital in Kirtipur, where she later passed away.
