KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Laghubitta Finance Ltd. successfully concluded a two-day program aimed at enhancing the skills and efficiency of its employees.

The event, held at the Royal Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu, included a progress review, strategic planning, and specialized training sessions.

During the program, participants reviewed the achievements of the past fiscal year and outlined key strategies for the current financial year in line with the institution’s annual work plan.

The program saw participation from 47 employees, including provincial heads from all seven provinces, 31 monitoring officers, and 9 loan recovery officers.

Special training sessions were provided to enhance participants’ skills and capacities, which the institution believes will contribute to improved performance and excellence in work outcomes.

Addressing the program, NIC Asia Laghubitta Chairman of the Board, Prakashraj Sharma, highlighted successful practices adopted by microfinance institutions both domestically and internationally, discussed the sector’s challenges, and emphasized strategies necessary to maintain loan quality.

He encouraged employees to adopt innovative work practices to achieve optimal results.

Similarly, Board Member Balram Paudel elaborated on effective measures, methods, and principles to strengthen branch office monitoring, providing examples that inspired employees to improve oversight processes.

The program also featured insights from Chief Executive Officer Cholraj Sharma Joshi, Deputy CEO Mesh Bahadur Basnet, Assistant CEO Ganesh Ghimire, and Assistant General Manager Rajendra Nyaupane, along with heads of various departments.

They shared presentations addressing day-to-day operational challenges and proposed actionable steps to overcome them.
