KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank has provided educational materials to more than 150 students residing at Shanti Sewa Griha in Tilganga, Kathmandu, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The materials were handed over during a special programme on March 12.
The bank’s Chief Executive Officer Sujit Kumar Shakya and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Santosh Kumar Rathi jointly presented school bags and other educational supplies to the Managing Director of the institution, Apsara Karki.
The initiative aims to support the academic development of students living under the care of the charitable organisation and to help improve their learning environment.
Earlier this year, the bank also provided scholarships to underprivileged, talented, and differently-abled students studying from Grade 6 to Grade 10 in government and community schools across all seven provinces of Nepal.
In previous years as well, NIC Asia Bank has extended scholarships to deserving students and supported education by constructing library buildings and establishing libraries in several government and community schools nationwide.
The bank believes that the educational support provided to students at Shanti Sewa Griha will help enhance their academic quality and encourage them to continue their studies.
