NHRC recommends probe into RSP MP Sangroula

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended that the government launch an investigation into Jwala Sangroula in connection with alleged human rights violations related to the incidents of Bhadra 23 and 24.

The recommendation is based on a report prepared by a committee led by NHRC member Lily Thapa, which was formed to investigate human rights abuses during the said events.

According to the commission, there should be a detailed inquiry into Sangroula’s role and involvement in the incidents.

he NHRC has further stated that if she is found guilty, necessary legal and departmental action should be taken.

The commission has already submitted its report to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, officially forwarding its recommendations for government action.
