NHRC recommends probe into MP Karki

KATHMANDU: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has recommended the government to investigate Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Dr. Tosima Karki over alleged involvement in incidents related to the Gen Z protests on Bhadra 23 and 24.

The recommendation comes based on a report prepared by a committee led by NHRC member Lili Thapa, which was formed to examine alleged human rights violations during the protests.

The commission has suggested that authorities conduct a detailed investigation into her role and involvement in the incidents and take legal action if she is found guilty.

The report has already been submitted to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
