NEPSE sees mild recovery after 3-days of decline

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) recorded a slight improvement on Tuesday after three consecutive days of decline.

The benchmark index rose by 3.21 points to close at 2,565.16, marking a 0.12 percent increase compared to the previous trading day.

Out of the total listed companies that traded during the day, share prices of 142 companies increased, while 102 declined and 10 remained unchanged.

The overall improvement in the index was supported by a higher number of gaining companies than losing ones.

A total of 7,947,058 shares were traded through 55,632 transactions on Tuesday, amounting to a turnover of Rs 3.62 billion.

This is lower than Monday’s turnover of Rs 4.51 billion, indicating reduced trading activity.

Among the 13 sub-indices, Development Banks, Finance, Hotels & Tourism, Investment, Microfinance and Others declined.

All other sectoral indices, however, recorded gains, according to Nepse.

The market showed marginal recovery but remained subdued amid lower trading volume, reflecting cautious investor sentiment.
