NEPSE index rises nearly 5 points amid mixed share performance

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed 4.90 points on Tuesday, rebounding from Monday’s 5.54-point decline that had closed the index at 2,635.01.

Among Tuesday’s active stocks, 118 saw their prices rise, 134 fell, and 8 remained unchanged.
Despite more companies recording losses than gains, the overall index still moved upward.
A total of 13,624,824 shares were traded across 77,017 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs 699.04 crore, up from Rs 647.26 crore on Monday.
Sector-wise, the indices of hydropower, investment, mutual funds, non-life insurance, others, and trading groups showed gains, while the remaining sectors experienced declines.
