NEPSE index falls 20.56 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 20.56 points on Wednesday, erasing gains made the previous day.
After rising 3.21 points on Tuesday to close at 2,565.16, the index could not maintain momentum.
Out of the companies traded on Wednesday, 49 saw their share prices rise, 158 recorded declines, and 7 remained unchanged.
The higher number of declining stocks led to a double-digit drop in the overall index.
A total of 668,824 transactions took place, involving the trading of 8.44 million shares worth Rs 384.85 crore.
The trading value was slightly higher than Tuesday’s Rs 362.61 crore.
Among the 13 sub-indices, only the Production and Processing sector showed gains, while the rest fell, contributing to the overall decline in the Nepse index.
