NEPSE index falls 12.58 points as most stocks slump

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index slipped by 12.58 points on Tuesday, reversing Monday’s marginal gain.
The benchmark index closed at 2,683.15, down 0.46 percent from the previous session.
Out of the total listed companies, 66 saw their share prices rise, 190 experienced declines, while three remained unchanged.
Trading activity recorded 92,338 transactions, with 18.73 million shares changing hands, totaling Rs 863.15 million in turnover.
The trading volume and value increased compared to Monday, when Rs 822.39 million worth of shares were traded.
Among the 13 sub-sectors, only Hotels & Tourism, Manufacturing & Processing, and Mutual Funds indices posted gains.
All other sub-sectors closed lower, pulling the overall Nepse index down in double digits.
