NEPSE inches up by 1.52 points amid mixed market sentiment

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose marginally by 1.52 points on Wednesday, closing at 2,641.43, following a 4.90-point gain on Tuesday when it ended at 2,639.91.
This represents a modest 0.05% increase compared to the previous day.
Out of the stocks traded, 125 companies saw their share prices rise, 124 recorded declines, and 11 remained unchanged.
The almost equal number of gainers and losers contributed to the minimal overall movement in the index.
Wednesday’s trading involved 72,671 transactions, with a total of 12,504,970 shares changing hands, amounting to a turnover of Rs 620.94 million—slightly lower than Tuesday’s turnover of around Rs 700 million.
Among the 13 sectoral indices, Banking, Life Insurance, Manufacturing & Processing, Microfinance, and Others recorded declines, while the remaining sectors posted positive performance.
