Nepal’s diversity a source of strength, says Minister Pandey
He stressed that effectively promoting and organizing this diversity would benefit the entire country.
KATHMANDU: Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey has highlighted Nepal’s multi-ethnic, multilingual, multi-religious, and multicultural diversity as the nation’s core identity and source of strength.
Responding to questions in the National Assembly on Thursday, Minister Pandey underscored that every language and community carries its own unique literature, art, and philosophy.
He stressed that effectively promoting and organizing this diversity would benefit the entire country.
“If diversity is promoted and organized in a focused manner, it will serve the interests of the nation’s rich cultural fabric and help safeguard Nepal’s unique identity. The government is committed to developing more impactful programs in the coming days to support this,” he said.
Minister Pandey also pointed out the constitutional provision under Article 287, which mandates the establishment of the Language Commission.
He noted that the commission is actively engaged in researching, preserving, and developing Nepal’s languages to foster mother tongue development and linguistic preservation.
