Nepalis overseas can now receive round-the-clock medical advice—including kidney-related consultations—through Viber, Imo, and WhatsApp.
KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has introduced a 24-hour health consultation service for Nepalis working or living abroad.
According to Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki, Nepalis overseas can now receive round-the-clock medical advice—including kidney-related consultations—through Viber, Imo, and WhatsApp.
For kidney-related queries, individuals can contact +977 9763490900 via Viber, Imo, or WhatsApp. The service is being operated by the Sahid Dharma Bhakta National Transplant Centre.
Similarly, for other general health consultations, the Ministry has provided two additional numbers:
+977 9851345701 and +977 9851345702, available on Viber and WhatsApp 24/7.
These services are supported by Bir Hospital.
Dr. Budhathoki said the initiative aims to assist Nepalis abroad who often face difficulties when falling ill or lacking timely medical guidance.
He added that health awareness messages have also been placed at various points inside Tribhuvan International Airport to inform outgoing migrant workers about essential health information.
