KATHMANDU: The blockbuster Nepali film ‘Unko Sweater’ has been officially released for free streaming on YouTube, allowing audiences worldwide to watch it at no cost.

The film’s production company, Artmandu, made the announcement through its official YouTube channel.

Director Naveen Chauhan stated that after the film’s long and successful run in theaters across Nepal and India, the team decided to make it digitally accessible so that audiences everywhere could enjoy it.

The film was a commercial triumph, earning approximately Rs 120 million in Nepal.

It ran for 51 days in over 40 theaters nationwide and achieved similar unprecedented success in India, screening in 40 halls across cities including Gangtok, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Assam, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, and Kerala.

Despite language and cultural differences, the film’s emotional depth resonated with Indian audiences, earning widespread acclaim. Fans who missed the theatrical release, both in Nepal and abroad, had been requesting a re-release. Respecting this demand, Artmandu decided to bring the film to YouTube.

Starring Bipin Karki, Miruna Magar, Alex Paras, Pariksha Limbu, and Sunil Pokharel, Unko Sweater is celebrated not just as a movie, but as a heartfelt story of roots, memories, and human relationships.
