KATHMANDU:  Nepal has set a competitive target of 290 runs for the United Arab Emirates in their ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 match at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground.

Batting first after winning the toss, the Nepal national cricket team posted 289 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 50 overs.

Vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee led the innings with a superb century, scoring 100 runs off 94 balls before being run out.

Binod Bhandari contributed 56 runs, while Rohit Paudel and Gulshan Jha added 39 and 44 runs respectively, providing stability in the middle order.

For the United Arab Emirates national cricket team, Ajay Kumar and Junaid Siddique claimed two wickets each, while Haider Ali took one wicket.

Nepal had defeated UAE by 37 runs in their previous encounter, adding extra confidence going into this match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
