Nepal SBI Bank signs agreements with GIZ Nepal

KATHMANDU: Nepal SBI Bank Ltd. (NSBL) has entered in MoU with Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ Nepal) through Sustainable Electric Transport for Nepal (SET4NPL), a project funded by Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) and implemented by GIZ Nepal in collaboration with Global Green Growth Initiative (GGGI) and the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT) of the Government of Nepal.

Under this initiative, the project aims to encourage adoption of electric vehicles by providing incentives to both Public Transport Operators (PTOs) and their financing partners (Hire Purchase Companies and Bank and Financing institutions-BFls).

For this, subsidies and other technical enablers are provided to PTOs for procuring 3,500 Electric Micro and Mini-Buses (EMBs).

E-Ticketing, Creation of a central portal through GPS installation will be done for all vehicles enrolled under the program.

With this initiative, NSBL intends to contribute to Nepal’s Green Initiative as a financial partner
and a responsible corporate citizen.

The agreements were signed and exchanged between Mr. Roshan Koirala, Chief Credit Officer, NSBL and Mr. Diego Senoner, SET4NPL Programme Manager, GIZ Nepal in presence of other officials from the Bank and GIZ Nepal.

The Bank has been rendering its banking services for the last 32 years.

Currently, the bank has been operating through its 102 Branches, 22 Extension Counters, 7 Province Offices, 21 Branchless Banking, 127 ATMs and a Corporate Office.
