Neesham removes comment on Pokhara Avengers post
The sudden removal has further fueled curiosity among fans and observers.
KATHMANDU: A comment by New Zealand cricketer Jimmy Neesham on a social media post by Pokhara Avengers has stirred widespread discussion online.
Neesham unexpectedly responded to a post by the franchise praising his performance.
The team had written that they were proud he played for Pokhara Avengers and called it unfortunate that New Zealand finished as runners-up in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after losing to India national cricket team on Sunday night.
Replying to the post, Neesham commented: “Cool, pay your players.”
The remark quickly went viral across social media platforms.
However, Neesham later deleted the comment, according to Pokhara Avengers owner Subodh Tripathi.
The sudden removal has further fueled curiosity among fans and observers.
Tripathi said Neesham had not received any advance payment for participating in the Nepal Premier League.
As per the agreement, 50 percent of the payment was to be sent after approval from Nepal Rastra Bank, with the remaining amount due within 28 days.
However, he said the payment process has been delayed because a recommendation from the National Sports Council had not yet been received.
Neesham was among the high-profile overseas players in the league. In the inaugural edition of the NPL, he played for Janakpur Bolts and played a key role in helping the team win the title.
In the second edition, he joined Pokhara Avengers at the last moment and featured in four matches as per his contract.
