KATHMANDU: The Nepal Communist Party (NCP), formed through the unification of 22 communist and socialist factions, has released its election manifesto ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

Contesting under the ‘Tara’ (Star) symbol, the party has presented a roadmap for an independent and prosperous Nepal under the slogan: “Good Governance and Employment, Preparing for Socialism.” The manifesto emphasizes political stability, a new phase of economic reform, and inclusive prosperity as its core pillars.

Among its key promises, the party has pledged to reform government structure by reducing cabinet size, introduce a cost-effective electoral system, and establish a high-level asset investigation commission to ensure zero tolerance for corruption.

Economically, the manifesto aims to achieve double-digit growth within five years and create 500,000 jobs annually.

The party also plans to launch a “Decade of Agricultural Investment” to modernize farming, address landless and marginalized communities’ issues, and ensure accessible healthcare and education for all citizens.

Socially, the manifesto includes measures to grant women equal rights to ancestral property, provide special provisions for Dalit communities, and secure voting rights for Nepalis working abroad.

On foreign policy, the NCP emphasizes adherence to a non-aligned approach while safeguarding national interest and sovereignty.
