NC to finalize National Assembly candidates tomorrow

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress is set to finalize its candidates for the National Assembly election tomorrow, Tuesday.
The decision was made during a Central Executive Committee meeting held Monday at the party headquarters in Sanepa.
A follow-up meeting has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday to finalize candidates and discuss electoral alliances with other parties, party spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said.
Dr. Mahat added that discussions are already underway at the party’s top level with leaders from CPN-UML, NCP, and other parties regarding potential alliances. The Tuesday meeting will conclude decisions on these matters.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been holding talks with UML Chair KP Sharma Oli, NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and other leaders to coordinate support and alliances.
With the largest vote share in the National Assembly, Nepali Congress is leveraging its position to engage in alliance talks for the upcoming elections, Dr. Mahat said.
