KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Chief Spokesperson Shyamkumar Ghimire urged the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) not to be overly concerned about the controversy surrounding visit visas.

Addressing the parliament on Friday, Ghimire criticized RSP and its President Rabi Lamichhane for obstructing parliamentary proceedings over the issue for the past two months.

He pointed out that many leaders, including some from RSP, have traveled abroad on visit visas, obtained foreign citizenship, settled there, and yet returned to Nepal to hold high offices, including the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

Ghimire emphasized that such achievements attained via visit visa routes should not cause unnecessary worry, highlighting that numerous politicians and parliamentarians have risen to their current positions through similar means.
