NC special convention to follow party statute: Sharma
Sharma said that once the process for the special convention begins, the procedural guidelines will be formulated, and the convention will then proceed with the leadership selection process accordingly.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma has stated that the party’s special general convention will move forward in accordance with the party statute.
Speaking to journalists at Bhrikutimandap on Friday during a site inspection for the convention, Sharma said that once the process for the special convention begins, the procedural guidelines will be formulated, and the convention will then proceed with the leadership selection process accordingly.
He emphasized that he does not support showing disrespect or making negative remarks about any party leaders and stressed that the convention must follow the provisions of the party statute.
Sharma also mentioned that invitations have been extended to both the party president and the acting president to participate in the convention. “We are not commenting on anyone personally. The main question is whether everything will proceed according to the party statute. That is why our colleagues have invited the party president and acting president to participate. Gradually, the special convention is expected to become a shared platform for everyone, and it must proceed as such,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the special convention, scheduled to begin on Sunday, will advance as an inclusive platform for the entire party.
