KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Rajan KC has raised concerns over Nepal’s unsafe air services, saying that one has to risk flying unsafely to come to Nepal.

Speaking at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on International Relations and Tourism on Friday, he highlighted that while air travel is considered the safest mode of transport globally, it remains unsafe in Nepal.

He emphasized the need to identify and address the causes of this insecurity and criticized the culture of claiming rights without fulfilling responsibilities.

“Globally, air travel is the safest mode of transport. In Nepal, it is the exact opposite. If one wants unsafe air travel, one has to come to Nepal. We must find out why this is happening. I believe this bill will greatly improve aviation safety,” he said.

MP KC also suggested that the parliamentary committee form a subcommittee to review and discuss each point of the Civil Aviation Bill thoroughly.
