KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr. Chandra Bhandari has emphasized that party President Sher Bahadur Deuba must personally participate in the party’s upcoming special general convention.
Speaking to reporters on Friday while overseeing stage arrangements at the convention venue, Bhrikutimandap, Bhandari said that the convention belongs to Deuba’s party, and his presence is essential.
The special general convention is scheduled for Poush 27 and 28 and will see participation from delegates representing all districts.
Bhandari expressed confidence that all party leaders will attend.
Referring to General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwprakash Sharma, he added that the convention would be crucial in shaping the present and future of the Nepali Congress. “All 77 districts are with us. The delegates from every district belong to our party—they represent both the present and the future. That’s why we will coordinate with the leaders and take everyone along. The party president must also attend this special convention. It’s his party,” Bhandari said.
He further urged the General Secretaries to take greater responsibility in uniting the party and guiding it forward.
