KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Yubaraj Sharma has raised concerns over the current government, led by Sushila Karki, and its foreign policy approach.

Speaking at the National Assembly on Monday, Sharma questioned whether the government might weaken Nepal’s long-standing principles of non-aligned foreign policy and the “One China” policy, which previous administrations have carefully upheld.

He emphasized that being the first female Prime Minister is not enough to make history; what matters is taking actions that can truly shape the nation’s legacy.

Sharma also highlighted that the public’s primary demand is for free and fair elections, urging all constitution-supporting forces to unite and take a firm and clear stance.

He warned that the current administration’s policies could potentially strain relations with neighboring friendly countries, sparking widespread concern.
