Nawalparasi administration issues code of conduct warning ahead of Rabi Lamichhane event

KATHMANDU: As preparations for the upcoming election intensify, the District Administration Office, Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta West), has stepped up monitoring of political party activities.

In this context, the administration has issued a caution warning that the election code of conduct could be violated during a program to be attended by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.

The administration released a notice targeting the ‘Jana Samparka tatha Ghanti Abhivadan Program’ scheduled to be organized by the RSP in the district today.

Through the notice, political activities have been instructed to remain strictly within the limits of the election code of conduct.

In the letter signed by Assistant Chief District Officer and Election Code of Conduct Monitoring Officer Poshan Raj Bhandari, the administration stated its commitment to ensuring that the upcoming House of Representatives election is conducted in a fair, free, and fear-free environment.

With the Election Commission having enforced the Election Code of Conduct 2082 nationwide from Magh 14, the administration has intensified efforts to ensure political parties comply with the rules.

The notice further states, “Information has been received regarding a program scheduled to take place in this district on Magh 27, 2082, in the presence of Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane. All concerned parties are hereby informed not to engage in or allow any activities that are contrary to the Election Code of Conduct 2082 during the program.”
