KATHMANDU: Napoli defeated Bologna 2-0 in the Italian Super Cup final, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, showcasing an outstanding performance.

The 28-year-old opened the scoring with a brilliant strike in the 39th minute, giving Napoli the lead.
He then doubled the advantage in the 57th minute after capitalizing on a Bologna defensive error.
After the match, Napoli’s Matteo Politano said, “We are the champions of Italy. We came here to win this trophy, and we played well to achieve it.”
This victory marks Napoli’s third Italian Super Cup triumph.
Neres had also scored in the semi-final against AC Milan, helping Napoli reach the final.
Originally contested only between the Serie A and Coppa Italia winners, the competition expanded to four teams in 2023 and will continue to be held in Saudi Arabia until 2029.
