NA Election: votes count begins in Koshi

KATHMANDU: Voting for the National Assembly elections has ended.

Following the end of voting, the counting of votes has started in Koshi State.

Assistant Election Officer Hem Bahadur Budhathoki said that the counting of votes in Koshi began at 4 p.m.

According to him, the voting results would be made public shortly.

On the other side of Koshi State, the power coalition’s candidates are Krishna Prasad Sitaula of Congress and Champa Karki of CPN (Maoist Center).

Karki is up against Sitaula, RPP’s Uddhav Paudel, and UML’s Rukmini Koirala.

In Koshi State, at the state and local levels, UML has 4,024 votes, Congress 3,684, Maoist Center 1,278, RPP 394, CPN Unified Socialists 345, JSP 129 and Independents 57.

After RPR and UML joined forces in Koshi, the difference in vote share with the alliance has decreased to 794.

The ruling coalition has 5436 votes.

The votes of UML and RPP are 4,642.
