Mystery of body found in sack at Bus Park solved, hotel cook arrested

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu police have solved the mystery of a young woman whose body was found wrapped in a sack at the city’s new bus park on Saturday morning.
During the investigation, a suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder.
The body, discovered in a decomposed state, initially made identification challenging for authorities.
However, detailed police investigations have confirmed the identities of both the victim and the accused.
According to police sources, the victim has been identified as Aayusha Magar, also known as ‘Maya,’ a 20-year-old woman from Rukum.
The suspect, 25-year-old Surya Thapa Magar, has been taken into custody.
Surya was reportedly working as a cook at a hotel near the bus park.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim and the suspect were previously acquainted.
Police suspect that the murder may be linked to a dispute involving drugs, either in relation to consumption or trafficking.
The Kathmandu District Police Office has announced that it will hold a press conference on Monday at 2:00 PM to release further details of the investigation.
