Myanmar exports 2.1M tons of rice in nine months

KATHMANDU: Myanmar has exported more than 2.1 million tons of rice and broken rice during the first nine months of the current fiscal year (April–Dec 2025-26), marking a significant improvement in the country’s rice exports, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF).

The federation reported on Monday that these exports generated approximately USD 67.5 million in revenue for the Southeast Asian nation.

Myanmar shipped rice and broken rice to more than 30 countries worldwide, utilizing both sea and land routes.

For comparison, Myanmar exported a total of 2.48 million tons of rice and broken rice in the entire fiscal year 2024-25.
