Multiple party leaders switch to Congress at Shekhar Koirala election rally
Addressing a gathering organised in the constituency, Koirala formally received new members who had previously been affiliated with different political forces.
KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the Nepali Congress and parliamentary candidate from Morang Constituency No. 6, Shekhar Koirala, has welcomed leaders and cadres from various political parties into the Nepali Congress during an election campaign programme.
Addressing a gathering organised in the constituency, Koirala formally received new members who had previously been affiliated with different political forces.
Among those joining the Nepali Congress were central committee member of the Urjashil Party Aakash Karn from Biratnagar-12, CPN (Unified Socialist) leader Bhim Bahadur KC, along with Dhiraj Tajpuriya, Sohil Sheikh, Anurag Bishwakarma, Bablu Sah, Rihan Raja, Rahul Sahani, Arjun Kamat, Ritik Sah, Ritik Paswan, Bikky Sahani and Guneswor Kamat.
Likewise, local UML leader Madhav Ghimire from Sundarharaicha Municipality–4 and local Rastriya Prajatantra Party leaders DB Bik and Rajkumar Bik from Sundarharaicha–6 also joined the Nepali Congress.
The new entrants said they were convinced that only the Nepali Congress could safeguard their identity, religion, culture and traditions.
Expressing confidence in Koirala’s leadership, they stated that they had joined the party to help ensure his victory and representation in Parliament.
Welcoming the new members, Koirala called for unity to protect democratic values and work collectively for the development of the constituency.
