KATHMANDU: CPN-UML youth leader and House of Representatives member Thakur Gaire has called for strict action against all individuals involved in the recent visit visa scandal, stating that no guilty party should be spared and no innocent person should be punished.

Speaking during Tuesday’s parliamentary session, Gaire said the issue has drawn serious attention across Nepal and caused immense suffering to Nepalis who were deceived and financially exploited. “Many lost their properties. This scandal must not be repeated,” he emphasized.

He urged the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) not to obstruct the investigation and stressed the need for legal reforms to prevent such incidents in the future.

Gaire also criticized the lack of focus on pressing national issues. “Parliament should be discussing economic recovery, governance, prosperity, and the budget—not constantly being dragged into scandals,” he said.
