MP Sharma to government: No mercy, no heart? (video)
Sharma questioned, “Is this budget designed only for voters from five districts? Can the parliament function properly with such a divisive approach?”
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress MP Dr. Sunil Sharma sharply criticized the government for discriminatory treatment toward the majority of the country’s districts.
Targeting the Prime Minister and ministers, Sharma questioned why only five districts seem to receive focused attention and resources, asking, “Are only the citizens of these five districts Nepali? What about the 72 districts of Karnali, Mugu, Mustang, Madhesh, Terai, and the rest of the hills?”
He accused the government of neglecting basic needs in many areas, saying, “Is it too much to ask for clean drinking water, irrigation canals for farmers, or a single borehole for water supply in these regions?” Sharma further condemned the leadership for lacking compassion and responsibility, challenging, “Are you ministers for the entire country or just a small clique? If you won alone, why form a coalition?”
Demanding immediate revision of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget to ensure fairness and inclusiveness, Sharma questioned, “Is this budget designed only for voters from five districts? Can the parliament function properly with such a divisive approach?”
