KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Asim Sah has strongly criticized the government for remaining silent on major corruption and human trafficking scandals linked to visit visas.

Speaking during Monday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Sah questioned Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak about the status of the investigation into human trafficking under the guise of visit visas. “Where has the visit visa trafficking file reached?” he asked, warning the government not to assume that the public will forget the issue. “Don’t make the mistake of thinking people will forget. We won’t let them forget.”

Sah also raised concerns about the lack of action against Minister Rajkumar Gupta, who resigned following allegations of corruption.

He ridiculed the resignation as a means to escape justice, saying, “Has resignation become the holy Ganga bath to cleanse corruption sins?”

He accused the government of closing investigation files and protecting other implicated ministers and former ministers through “invisible forces,” implying selective justice. “Is there a separate law in this country for some ministers?” he asked the Speaker of the House.

Sah’s statements reflect growing public and political frustration over the government’s handling of corruption and human trafficking cases, particularly those involving high-level officials.
