KATHMANDU: Nisha Dangi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (TSP) has demanded that the government immediately arrange for the use of indigenous items in the President’s Office, Prime Minister’s Office, and Parliament.
She asked the government to make these places self-sufficient by using only indigenous materials in Sheetal Niwas, Singha Durbar, Parliament, and Baluwatar, speaking at the zero hour of the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday.
According to MP Dangi, everything from the chair to the microphone, the pen to the paper, should be indigenous.
She has also asked the government which country imported the chair she is sitting on and the chair the Prime Minister is sitting on.
MP Dangi said – ‘What kind of policy has the state made to increase domestic production? Why were those things not applied to appear in the numbers? I would like to draw the attention of the government through the speaker to conduct a discussion to come up with a policy so that moral reforms can be made. Similarly, the chair I am sitting in the house was imported from which country? Or is it made in Nepal? There is a fight for the chair. Prime Minister’s chair, from which country was it imported? Mr. Speaker, let us declare the areas of Singha Durbar, Baluwatar, Sheetal Niwas and this House to be independent. I would like to draw the attention of the government through the speaker to use all the Nepali people from the chair to the microphone, from the pen to the paper.’
MP Dangi also alerted the government to hold discussions to increase domestic production.
