KATHMANDU: Morocco secured a place in the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations with a commanding 2–0 victory over Cameroon on Friday, reaching the last four of the tournament for the first time since 2004.

Brahim Díaz and Ismail Saibari were on the scoresheet as Morocco dominated the match from start to finish.

The opening goal came in the 25th minute when Achraf Hakimi’s corner was headed on by Ayoub El Kaabi, allowing Díaz to finish from close range.

Morocco maintained relentless pressure throughout the game, leaving Cameroon unable to register a single shot on target.

The victory was sealed in the 74th minute when Ismail Saibari converted a chance created from an Ez Abde Ezzalzouli free kick.

With this win, Morocco move one step closer to the title and will face either Algeria or Nigeria in the semifinals as they chase a place in the final.
